All for a good cause

Jo Hyun-Jae’s fans have been doing charity work in his name for some time. Korea’s EVERjohyunjae has been making donations (totalling 5,700,000 won up to March 2009) to UNICEF and Good Neighbours since October 2006 and January 2007 respectively.

UNICEF works for the destitute in Africa and Good Neighbours for abused and poor children and North Korean children.

EVERjohyunjae started this worthy project “with joy…..doing what makes us happy”, in the name of Jo Hyun-Jae. Quote: “However difficult everyone may feel, we should help people who are in more difficult situations.”

A certain kind of actor inspires a certain kind of fans. The quiet, unassuming, modest, low-key Jo Hyun-Jae’s fans are all shy, subdued, serious people with big hearts who work for good causes in his name.

Happy anniversary, JoHyunJaeChina!

JoHyunJaeChina celebrates its second anniversay on March 5, 2009. This very popular JHJ website is going from strength to strength, with an infusion of new members resulting from Hunan TV showing “Only You” in November 2008. This is the first time a Jo Hyun-Jae drama was shown on Chinese TV on the mainland.

In the words of JHJChina’s Apple: “We had thought these two years when Hyun-Jae is away would be lean years. Surprisingly, on the contrary, we are busier than ever.”

Everybody wants to break into the China market which is potentially huge. Jo Hyun-Jae has many fans in China who are all waiting for him to come here one of these days.

Jo Hyun-Jae did come to China in July 2007. He was the lead model in the Andre Kim Fashion Extravaganza held in Wuxi on July 12. JHJChina had a scoop of this event and they even produced their own DVD which not only documents the fashion show but also their close encounter with Jo Hyun-Jae at Shanghai Airport (where they first met him on July 10 and saw him off on July 13.)
