CAFE sends supplies to “49 Days” again

On the evening of April 22, CarpeDiem (Korea and Japan) sent the following meals and snacks (photos are self-explanatory) to the “49 Days” cast and crew while they were filming on location. We can only marvel at their dedication and consideration – they take such good care of our JHJ (to the extent that even the other actors are impressed.) Note the special boxes not just for Han Kang/Gang (JHJ) but also for Ji-Hyun (NGR), Min Ho (BSB), etc.

EVER sends more supplies

On April 16 EVER (Korea and Japan) sent more supplies to JHJ and the “49 Days” crew — fruit cup, rice cake, Japanese snacks (16 kinds),pudding, Starbucks coffee, and energy drink — 60 portions in 10 boxes.

They were originally going to prepare lunch to send to Jinan, but at the last minute found out shooting had been changed to Seoul Palipaket, so that’s where they went.

In the morning they washed the fruit, bagged the Japanese snacks, added rice cake, energy drink, and Starbucks coffee to each portion, and were ready to go.

So as not to interfere with shooting, they put the stuff in a corner of Palapaket. The staff seemed to be used to this already, so they just took the boxes in.

For JHJ’s portion they prepared more fruit and more variety, and also included ginseng and Starbucks stored value card.

They also prepared special portions for LYW and BKL (the actress who plays NGR’s friend See Yu – the one who works in Paris Baguette.)

Because of the rise in last week’s rating, the atmosphere on set was very lively and energetic.

As for 100% pure male JHJ (their words), even if he is shooting day and night, he is still very happy. So handsome! So totally immersed in the drama! Very grateful!

When the EVER members brought the foodstuffs to the “49 Days” set, they could not see JHJ because he was busy shooting, so they waited in a coffee shop. And when JHJ came out to thank them, he could not see them. So they missed each other!

CAFE’s gifts for “49 Days” crew

Following photos show the gifts CarpeDiem (CAFE) sent to the “49 Days” crew recently, all beautiful gift-wrapped. They include almond raspberrry pie, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, brownies, chocolate cake, cereal bars, and cookies with 49Days logo as well as JHJ’s initials. So much sweet stuff! Everybody needs the calories in the hectic shooting to meet the broadcast deadline.

They didn’t specify but the white boxes must contain something special for JHJ, probably the usual ginseng. JHJ needs these to sustain him if he were filming almost non-stop. But as he says in the AUDI interview, he feels happy now just working, even if it is continuous filming for 30 hours.

EVER sends snacks to “49 Days” crew

On March 20 EVER (Korea and Japan) sent the following to the production team filming “49 Days” — rye baguette sandwich, assorted fruit cups, mandarin oranges, vitamin drinks, bottled water, cookies, Pringles, as well as dinner bento (lunchbox) — 68 portions packed in 17 boxes. There were something special for JHJ, LYW, BSB …. and of course the usual ginseng for JHJ.

For their efforts they received the following THANK YOU message from Star N Hit (English translation by wulijohyunjae):

Hello! Today’s weather is pretty good.

Thank you so much for the delicious snacks ~

Leaving this message during filming, this way gives an on-set feeling ~

So grateful for your supplies not just for JHJ but also for us.

EVER’s visit to “49 Days” set

JHJ was shooting “49 Days” on Feb.19, and some EVER members visited him on set and brought him (and the film crew) plenty of goodies:

1. EVER prepared 75 sets of snacks (in bags), plus a special set for JHJ

2. Fresh sandwiches and salad (airlifted that morning)

3. Fresh fruit (strawberries, grapes, pineapples) prepared that morning

4. Starbucks coffee (in bottles)

5. Evian mineral water

6. Forks, napkins, wet tissue

7. 16 different kinds of Japanese biscuits and crisps

8. Also whole boxes of oranges, glutinous rice cakes, donuts, Japanese cookies and coffee

This is what EVER wrote after the event (on Feb.20):

Because drama shooting changes location all the time and schedule is very tight, we have to be very careful so as not to affect their progress. We have to make sure that in supporting our actor, we do not become hindrances, so we proceeded in a very discreet way.

The original shooting location was suddenly changed. It took us lots of effort to get there.

Those members who were responsible for buying supplies and preparing the packages of snacks worked late for two nights, and got so exhausted that they nearly had to go to the hospital for intravenous drip. We are most grateful to these members (names not translated here.)

We started off at dawn and did not arrive until just before noon. From afar we saw a lot of people crowded together. We advanced boldly but actually only passed by quietly. You all know wherever JHJ is, there will be a halo of light. Among a crowd of students in uniform, a tall, slim, smart-looking figure came into view ….. is this…..is this…..

The JHJ that everyone is curious about ~

As tall and slim as before, dressed in school uniform, a beanie on his head, small face, big brown eyes glittering as always ….. brilliant smile ….. oh, so handsome!

All your warm wishes were conveyed. All the snacks specially prepared for JHJ were brought to the black van.

The weather was warm; the environment was quiet; the location was pleasant; it felt like a peaceful, open place, like being in the countryside.

Even though we were not sure what they were filming, we saw bicycles used in trips to the countryside. We think we also saw the lovely Nam Gyu-Ri. Oh ~ the atmosphere was really very pleasant. This drama “49 Days” will certainly hit the jackpot! Saying this won’t get me arrested …..

CAFEJapan’s Valentine gifts

Remember this autographed photo JHJ sent CAFEJapan? Do you know what they did to deserve it?

The following are what CAFEJapan sent JHJ for Valentine’s Day:

It’s not just the gifts — it’s all the tender loving thoughts behind the gifts.

They use the theme of “49 Days” to prepare 49 packets of chocolates,candies, and snacks. Each packet contains fans’ greetings with a numbered heart (1 – 49). These 49 packets are put into two heart-shaped red boxes.

Then in another red rectangular box they put fans’ messages (love notes) in different shapes and designs.

Both boxes are gift-wrapped in pink gossamer and tied with ribbons — so delicate and beautiful!

If we were JHJ, we would swoon on receiving these Valentine gifts.

Just seeing these makes us very proud of JHJ and his Japanese fans.

JHJ fans party in Osaka

Our Japanese friend M and members of her JHJ website had a get-together on Nov.27 in Osaka. The venue was Yumefuku, the restaurant where JHJ had his first Japanese meal when he went to Osaka for his first fan meeting in 2008.

JHJ left his mark here, as did other actors.

Highlight of the evening was watching the Japan Fan Meeting DVD (and videos of JHJ’s discharge, from what we can glimpse.) These Japanese fans certainly looked like they were having a good time.

We have to entertain ourselves as best as we can, and a little is better than nothing. JHJ fans are so easily satisfied and so happy with whatever we can get.

Footnote: M said Yumefuku did not live up to expectations, and next time they’d hold their party at the restaurant where JHJ dined in August 2010. It’s a mystery how the Japanese discover where JHJ did what!

We really don’t feel like posting this at all because 1) it’s old news (but the photos have just seen the light of day), and 2) it’s not exactly JHJ news. But in the absence of any news at all, anything is better than nothing.

The following photo shows what CAFE sent JHJ for Pepero Day (Nov.11). Pepero Day is an observance in South Korea similar to Valentine’s Day. It is named after the Korean snack Pepero and held on November 11, since the date “11/11″ resembles four sticks of Pepero. This day is observed mostly by young people and couples, who exchange Pepero sticks, other candies, and romantic gifts

Pepero (빼빼로) is a cookie stick, dipped in chocolate syrup, manufactured by Lotte Confectionary in Korea (since 1983) which denied starting Pepero Day to boost its sales.

What we really want to post is the following “creation” by our friend B — very unprofessional (JHJ’s face looks like it has been mauled!), not at all subtle, but so sweet! Thanks, B!

If you’ve ever wondered whether Jo Hyun-Jae uses any of the gifts his fans sent him, here’s proof (from CarpeDiem.)

The watch he was wearing on the day he entered the military on August 5, 2008, was a gift from CAFE on an earlier occasion.

The watch he was wearing on the day of his discharge on June 19, 2010, was the watch CAFE sent him for his birthday in May.

And EVER in one of their posts mentioned JHJ was using their birthday present – IPOD Touch – from photos on the KOW. We’re sure he’s also using their discharge present – the Samsung Galaxy cell phone.

So you can be assured that JHJ puts his fans’ gifts to good use.
