Dedicated to WuliJHJ (no kidding!)
wulijohyunjae | April 23, 2010 | 7:00 amOur JHJ fan of the month KK has created a MV for wuliJHJ! She asks if we have a favourite song, and we do. So here is Bette Midler’s “The wind beneath my wings”, set against some of our favourite scenes in “Sunshine”.
We got a little dizzy watching this MV over and over again. Is it because we’re on cloud nine? or is it because the picture keeps tilting from left to right, right to left…..? We’re probably just overjoyed!
The Wind Beneath My Wings
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
It must have been cold there in my shadow,
To never have sunlight on your face.
You were content to let me shine, that’s your way.
You always walked a step behind.
So I was the one with all the glory,
While you were the one with all the strength.
A beautiful face without a name for so long.
A beautiful smile to hide the pain.
Did you ever know that you’re my hero,
And everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
‘Cause you are the wind beneath my wings.
It might have appeared to go unnoticed,
But I’ve got it all here in my heart.
I want you to know I know the truth, of course I know it.
I would be nothing without you.
Did you ever know that you’re my hero?
You’re everything I wish I could be.
I could fly higher than an eagle,
‘Cause you are the wind beneath my wings.
Did I ever tell you you’re my hero?
You’re everything, everything I wish I could be.
Oh, and I, I could fly higher than an eagle,
‘Cause you are the wind beneath my wings,
‘Cause you are the wind beneath my wings.
Oh, the wind beneath my wings.
You, you, you, you are the wind beneath my wings.
Fly, fly, fly away. You let me fly so high.
Oh, you, you, you, the wind beneath my wings.
Oh, you, you, you, the wind beneath my wings.
Fly, fly, fly high against the sky,
So high I almost touch the sky.
Thank you, thank you,
Thank God for you, the wind beneath my wings.

Those winter memories
wulijohyunjae | April 19, 2010 | 7:00 amVideo (titled: “Those winter memories”) and “Love Letter” photos by KK of johyunjae.hk. KK is our JHJ Fan of the Month — she is so talented and versatile, and she creates the best MVs, set to beautiful melodies. Even though she lost everything because her computer crashed a while ago, it did not take her long to begin her creative process all over again. We salute you, KK!

From the moment the dawn starts to gleam in gold
I know I’ll never be lonely again
Seeing your face break into a smile for me
With you the world is not the same anymore.
(From the song – but equally applicable to how JHJ fans feel about him.)

2007 Best Star Awards
wulijohyunjae | April 17, 2010 | 7:00 amAbove MV shows clips of Jo Hyun-Jae accepting the Andre Kim 2007 Best Star Award, along with Kim Hee-Sun. Please also see video of event in our 2009.8.22 post “JHJ award-winning moments (4)” under Category: JHJ awards.

NOTE: MV is originally a flash – our resident computer genius turned it into this format. When I was editing this post (before the change), I had to listen to the accompanying song continuously – oh, at least 30 times! Nearly drove me nuts! Who’s the uptown girl? And is JHJ the downtown boy?

Black Day and JJM
wulijohyunjae | April 14, 2010 | 7:00 am
Well, I’m not a great fan of jajangmyeon, but it seems at least two JHJ characters in his dramas are. Here you see Andrea and Han Yi-Joon sampling these noodles with black bean paste. It’s OK to get your mouth all messy – it means you’re enjoying the jajangmyeon.

With this video you see them in action – very interesting – especially in the case of Han Yi-Joon. Remember that scene when Eun-Jae asks him why he is always taking her to eat jajangmyeon, and he says because it’s her favourite. For himself, I’m sure he prefers steak, or pasta.

A real man
wulijohyunjae | April 11, 2010 | 7:00 am“G.P.506″ premiered in Korea on April 3, 2008. This video is set to the song “A real man” by the Hong Kong singer George Lam.
Lyrics translated from Chinese (quite appropriate for this movie and JHJ’s role):
Whether you succeed or fail you have to try hard
If you have the will, nothing is ever too late
Who’s been at it while I’m not aware?
Success depends on true ability
Be a real man — shoulder the pain and disappointment.
To take part I have to be willing
Do what you have to do with all your heart
Who tries to confuse enmity with sincerity?
Let actions speak for themselves
This love is mesmerizing – who does not have a sorrowful past?
Be a real man, everyone has to die once
No need to reason, a hero may be a madman after all
Be a red-blooded man, venture forth into the world
Create moving stories with my own two hands
No hesitation in the face of failure or success.
With my whole heart and soul, plunge into the ring of competition
Life is special (life is special)
It can change my life (life can be so meaningful)
Enact a moving story (to remember all my life)
Dedicate my life to uphold justice.

Andrea
wulijohyunjae | April 4, 2010 | 7:00 amToday is Easter Sunday, so here is everybody’s favourite priest, Andrea. Andrea is also everybody’s favourite obba (big brother) or brother or son. Someone once said to me: “If my parish priest looks like Andrea, I’ll go to church every day.” As it is, she is now a “retired” Catholic (i.e. she doesn’t go to church anymore.) She also said: “A priest should not sleep with a woman (even though they are fully clothed.)” Some people are hard to please (Sigh!)

HYJ in “Only You”
wulijohyunjae | March 26, 2010 | 7:00 amThis video explains why so many fans fall in love with Jo Hyun-Jae in “Only You”, in spite of Han Yi-Joon’s big hair and the unflattering wardrobe.

From here to eternity
wulijohyunjae | March 24, 2010 | 7:00 amThis MV tells the love story of “Forbidden Love” — from happy childhood to the tragic end, set to a haunting song.
Kang Min-Woo in “Forbidden Love” resembles most what Sergeant Jo Hyun-Jae looks like now — not just the haircut, but also the manliness, the military air, the physical prowess. The drama was made in 2004 which means JHJ hasn’t really aged much in 6 years.

JHJ – B & W
wulijohyunjae | March 21, 2010 | 7:00 am
B & W of course refers to the video below since the photo above is in glorious colours. Jo Hyun-Jae looks equally good in colour or black-and-white.
