The new Official Korean JHJ Website will be launched exactly a week from today — on Monday, May 24, 2010.

We offer our heartiest congratulations and warmest wishes!

It’s been a long time coming.  First there was CAFE and then EVER, and in June 2008 the Japanese Official Fan Club.

For those of us who do not understand Korean or Japanese, it takes twice the effort to stay true to Jo Hyun-Jae.  That so many foreign fans remain loyal to JHJ says a lot about the man and the actor.

We started this blog in February 2009 because we felt there was a need to cater for English-speaking JHJ fans.  We remember our own experience of trying to find news of JHJ on the internet, desperately wandering from website to website.

EVER’s English section fills the gap somewhat, but there is scant news (our JHJ is so low-profile!) and even scantier photos and no videos (perhaps because of copyright.).

Now the new Official Korean Website has - in addition to Korean - English and Chinese.  This is wonderful news indeed.  It seems JHJ’s management company has finally caught on — at long last they realize their star is not just a Korean actor, that he has a big following all over the world, that his international fans are as devoted as his Korean or Japanese fans.

From now on, we will get the latest news and information on JHJ from the horse’s mouth, so to speak.  No more translation required.

We will of course support the new Official Korean Website, as well as EVER and CAFE which no longer represent JHJ officially but are still his biggest fan clubs in Korea.

We urge all our readers to register with the new Official Korean Website http://www.johyunjae.com when it comes online on May 24.  Registration is FREE!

Show your support for Jo Hyun-Jae at a critical juncture in his career.  He will be so pleased to know his fans have not deserted him during the two years he has been away.

In a few days’ time there will be an official website for dear Hyun-Jae.

When the official website is launched, I hope to see many different aspects of Hyun-Jae.

I feel that websites operated by fans have limitations.

I hope the new official website can transcend the limitations of fans’ websites — to further display a multi-faceted Hyun-Jae and project a brand new image.

I remember when the representative of Hyun-Jae’s management company discussed the official website, he said it would use Jo Hyun Jae’s name as domain.

Even if Hyun-Jae switches to another management company (not the present one), this website will still continue as is, thanks to their consideration.

I am very grateful for this.

As it has always been….as it is now….and in the future

A website that represents dear Hyun-Jae, with the longest history.

As mentioned above, let us do our best.

If Hyun-Jae is in a TV drama, we will give our views here.

When it is his birthday, we will assemble our resources and send him gifts.

Korean Official Website Opening — Congratulations

Dear EVER members,

The news of the impending opening of Jo Hyun Jae’s Korean Official Website just released by Star N Hit is really wonderful news.

Hyun-Jae’s Official Website — his own cyberspace linking Korea and Japan — is about to be launched.  This will mean a more splendid future for Hyun-Jae.

Furthermore, this arrangement of one official authority in Korea is not only better for Hyun-Jae himself, but also means there will be one source of accurate Hyun-Jae’s news and activities from now on.

Now EVERjohyunjae is no longer an official site, but will operate as a fan site.  Even though we are no longer official, EVERjohyunjae’s role is not much different from before.  Our main priority is to support Hyun-Jae and to communicate with as many fans as possible, and to maintain close friendship with overseas fans.

Also, we will respect all public activities of the Official Website.  And of course we will care about and support our Hyun-Jae’s unlimited development and growth ever after.

With Hyun-Jae’s discharge from the military just a little over a month away, the formal announcement of the opening of the Official Website is like adding wings to Hyun-Jae’s steps.  Now every move by Hyun-Jae is full of excitement, which fills us with expectations.

This is CarpeDiemJAPAN’s signature Jo Hyun-Jae photo.  They have a life-size one on a stand that they take with them everywhere.  I remember I first saw this at Kansai Airport in Osaka on June 21, 2008 when we were waiting for JHJ to arrive from Seoul for his Japan fan meetings.  When we went to dinner that evening (and also in Tokyo two days later), JHJ’s “presence” was by our side, standing there watching us eat.  The Japanese fans really wear their hearts on their sleeves!

I also remember something else: At the fan meetings in Osaka and Tokyo on June 22 and 23 respectively, JHJ souvenirs were on sale before and during the intermission.  I think the people manning the sale desks before the show were Official JHJ Fan Club staff (paid staff.)  But during the intermission I saw Param alone, serving behind the JHJ souvenirs counter (and she’s a volunteer.)  It was obvious she chose to forgo part of the show to help out.  That made a lasting impression on me.

Japan starts its Golden Week today — a 5-day weekend (May 1 – 5) when practically the whole of Japan is on vacation.

The Official JHJ Fan Club is also taking time off.  But before that they have mailed members’ birthday cards to Jo Hyun-Jae.  If you are a member of the OFC, your card is on its way to JHJ.

We have it from a reliable source that this year the Korean fan clubs will not be able to celebrate JHJ’s birthday with him at the camp.  (Last year they had a big do, remember? – actually 2!) Possible reasons being:  (1) JHJ is about to be discharged; and (2) nation still in mourning over recent naval disaster.  So, JHJ will not have to eat 2 birthday cakes this year.  But we hope he will be allowed to go home for his birthday.  After all, he has not had any leave since the end of last year.
