Haven’t left a message for a long time.
Are you all doing well?
Since change of office* I have a lot to take care of which explains my writing late.  [* management company]
There are lots of changes working with new people, so I think it will bring good results.
No matter what choice I make, you are always there with warm encouragement and support, for which I am very thankful.
I am now considering my next project, as well as taking a break and recharging.
Although I still don’t know what work I will next meet you with, I will present a new and better look!

여러분 모두 잘 지내고 계신가요?
사무실을 이전하고 여러가지 정리하는 시간이 좀 걸려서 글이 늦었네요.
새로운 사람들과 함께 일하며 여러가지 변화가 좋은 결과를 가져오리라 생각합니다.
어떠한 선택을 하든 항상 제게 따뜻한 격려와 지지를 보내주시는 여러분께 늘 감사할 따름입니다.

지금은 차기작을 고려하는 중이고 겸사겸사 휴식과 충전을 취하고 있습니다.

I’ve returned home after a long time busy working.

Thanks to all your warm cheer and encouragement, I can do well wherever I am.  Thank you so much!

I’ve met many good people when I was shooting in China, and I’ve also received a lot of good impressions.

But of course I’ve experienced differences in working conditions and other things, compared to our own country.

There may be opportunities to transcend Korea and further develop in China.

As an actor, I hope to gain more experience and widen my horizon with more opportunities for development.

I will also greet you all in a good work here.

Beware of the cold.  Be happy!!

Hi, this is Jo Hyun Jae ^ ^ Hope you had a good Chuseok.

As you know, I’ve been shooting a drama in China, and I’ve come back to South Korea to take a break.

Haven’t had home cooking for a long time; it’s really delicious ^ ^ Return to find you’ve sent me gifts – thank you so much!.

Let me tell you a little about life in China.  At the beginning there was some consideration that language problems and different shooting environments might create some difficulties.  Surprisingly I got along very well with my Chinese co-stars who are all very considerate.  The Director, Scriptwriter, etc. all gave me a lot of help.  The production team is full of friendly, nice people.  So shooting is very smooth and enjoyable.

Also, not long ago Chinese fans came to visit on set.  So, thanks to you all, I’m adjusting very well.  Food is palatable, everything is hassle-free, and I’m doing well ^ ^

After a few days’ leave I’m going back to China to continue shooting again.  Will keep you posted about my latest activities.

Thank you so much for supporting me, wherever I am.

안녕하세요, 조현재입니다.^^ 추석은 잘 보내셨는지요.

 아시다시피 요새 중국에서 촬영 중인데 잠시 한국에 돌아와 휴식을 취하고 있습니다.
오랜만에 집밥을 먹으니 정말 맛있네요^^ 귀국에 맞춰 여러분들이 보내주신 선물들도 잘 받았습니다, 항상 감사드립니다.

중국생활에 대해 조금 말씀드리자면, 처음에 말도 다르고 촬영환경도 달라 좀 어렵지않을까 싶었는데 의외로 중국 배우들과 호흡도 잘 맞고 감독님, 작가님께서 여러모로 배려도 많이 해주시고 스텝분들도 매우 친절하고 좋은 분들이라 즐겁고 편하게 촬영 잘 하고 있습니다.

그리고 얼마 전엔 중국팬분들이 직접 촬영장에 와주시기도 했구요. 그래서 덕분에 적응 잘 하고있고, 음식도 맛있고 별 불편함없이 잘 지내고 있습니다.^^

며칠 뒤엔 다시 중국에 돌아가 촬영 열심히 하고, 나중에 다시 근황 알려드리겠습니다.

제가 어디 있던지 늘 응원해주셔서 정말 감사합니다.

This is Jo Hyun-Jae.

The rain and wind have caused a lot of damage. Are you all well?

Hope you will not suffer any injuries; also hope you’ll stay in good health in the intense heat.

After “49 Days” is over, you want to know about my present situation and my next project.  I’ve been recruited to do a Chinese project, and I’ve decided to take it up after a lot of thought.

As an actor, coming into contact with other countries and their production environment as well as working with other actors is a rare opportunity. Although I am a little wary about leaving Korea for a period of time, with all the difficulties of differences in language and culture, I feel this is something challenging and lucky for me.

Although I am inadequate, I would like to say I feel like representing my country, so I will do my best.

In the next few months, I will be filming in good health in China and I will send you news.

When I return, I’ll again take on another good Korean project. Until then, please stay healthy, everyone!

장마와 태풍이 연속으로 닥치고 사건도 많은데 여러분들은 잘 지내고 계신가요?
부디 별다른 피해는 없으셨길 바라고, 무더위에 건강잃지않게 조심하시기 바랍니다.

49일 끝나고 제 근황이나 차기작에 대해 궁금해하셨을 것 같은데, 중국에서 작품섭외가 들어와서 심사숙고 후에 결정하게 되었습니다.
배우생활 하면서 우리나라와 다른 외국의 제작환경을 접하고 배우들과 같이 연기할 수 있는 건 쉽게 오지않는 좋은 기회이고, 비록 한동안 한국을 떠나있을 생각을 하니 아쉬운 생각이 들고, 언어와 문화 차이로 어려움도 있겠지만 그 자체가 도전이고 행운이라고 생각합니다.
부족하지만 감히 국가대표의 일원이 된 듯한 기분도 들어서 열심히 해야겠다는 생각이 드네요.
몇 개월간 중국에서 건강하게 촬영 잘 하고 소식 또 전해드리겠습니다.
다녀와서 다시 우리나라에서 좋은 작품으로 찾아뵐테니 그 때까지 건강하세요.

Thank you!

Hello, this is Jo Hyun-Jae.   How are you?

Did you enjoy watching “49 Days” which finished recently?  Because it was my first comeback project after my discharge, I wanted to appear before you ASAP, so I worked very hard at it.  Now it has been satisfactorily completed, thanks to all my fans’ support.  

In addition to acting, I enjoyed working on the OST.

[Message on OJFC:  "49 Days" will soon be shown on Japanese TV - hope it will be well received.]

I am now taking a rest and spending personal time.

Every time a drama ends, I have difficulty extracting myself.  I retain an affection for the work and the character in the aftermath which can last a long time.  This part should be done like this …. something like that.  Such a feeling of regret remains until I move on to the next project.

Fans’ support means a lot to me and in order to meet your expectations, I will do my best and show my best side.

During this period, many thanks for all your support, especially during the latter part of filming when I was so busy that I didn’t have time to monitor anything.  You have given me a lot of strength and your birthday greetings have given me great joy.

Thank you to fans all over the world for your unchanging love even after my discharge.

I’ll take on my next project as soon as possible.

얼마전 방영마친 49일 재미있게들 보셨나요? 전역 후 첫 복귀작이고 빨리 여러분 앞에 서고싶은 마음도 커서 나름대로 열심히 했었는데, 팬 여러분들 덕분에 무사히 마쳤습니다.

작품에 연기외에 OST에도 참여하게 되어서 즐거웠구요.
요새는 휴식을 취하며 개인적인 시간을 보내고 있어요.
매번 그렇지만 작품 끝나면 늘 아쉬움이 많이 남네요. 이런 부분은 이렇게 했으면 좋았을텐데 하는 부분도 있고, 작품과 캐릭터에 대해 정이 들어 한참 동안은 후유증이 있습니다.
그런 기분을 잊지않고 잘 간직하고 있다가 다음 작품에서 미련없이 털어내고 팬분들의 기대와 무한한 지지에 맞춰 더 좋은 모습을 보여드리고 싶네요.
촬영기간 중에도 여러분들이 많이 챙겨주신 덕에 나중엔 드라마 막바지라 모니터링 할 시간도 없이 바빴음에도 큰 힘을 얻고 아주 행복하고 즐거운 생일도 보냈구요.
전역 후에도 변함없이 많이 사랑해주셔서 고맙습니다.

New drama has begun

Hello, this is Jo Hyun-Jae.

What do you think of my new drama?

Up to now, there has not been any difficulty and filming is very smooth.  But this is just the beginning and it should become busier later.

This is only the beginning of the drama, but fans have already come several times to support me on set which gives me a lot of strength.

You also take care of those who work with me — thank you so much!

I am sorry I cannot greet you individually.

I’ll put my heart and soul into filming and repay you with a good work.

Also, I’m very worried about the earthquake and nuclear crisis in Japan.  Hope fans in Japan have not suffered any serious damage.

I pray for an early recovery and return to normalcy so you can watch the drama with a light heart.  Hope such disasters will never happen again.
