Jo Hyun Jae

This “49 Days” MV is created by our friend KK who uses the instrumental version of Noel Harrison’s song “The windmills of your mind” (from the 1968 movie “The Thomas Crown Affair”) — an all-time favourite of ours.  The lyrics (which read like a poem) are very appropriate since we’ve often wondered what goes on in the windmills of JHJ’s mind.

In his two recent public appearances – at Go Soo’s “Gojijeon” film premiere and Eugene’s wedding – JHJ wore grey on both occasions.  Some of his fans say he wore grey because didn’t want to detract attention from the stars of the event.  But grey has always been one of JHJ’s favourite colours in his wardrobe, in addition to black and white.

JHJ’s appearance at Eugene’s wedding on July 23 is such a rare occasion that we’re milking it to its last drop.  Here is an eyewitness account by a fan:

Even now my heart is still racing. What to do ~~~!!?

Today – thanks to Eugene – I finally saw Hyunjae ~~!!!

Even though I started waiting 1 1/2 hours before the start of the wedding, but it’s now 1 1/2 hours since the wedding started and there is still no sight of JHJ.

Oh, of course, how could it be so easy to see him, must go through trials and tribulations ~~

Waiting, waiting …. getting a little disheartened, wondering if I should just go home like this ~~?

No, since I’ve been waiting, I should perservere to the end …. keep waiting …. with this thought, I continue waiting.

Around 2 p.m. when the ceremony is over, JHJ appears at the stairs on the 2/F, that is unmistakably our Hyunjae’s silhouette ~~

But this church has two entrances. Hyunjae does not come out to the photo area where I am standing but goes out through the other entrance, so of course I can’t see him where I am.

Just as I decide to run to the main entrance, I hear screams from behind me …..

Those stars attending the wedding are coming out in 2s and 3s ….

At this time, Ryu Jin suddenly passes by ….

I raise my head, at the banquet area not far away is …. Hyunjae! …. Hyunjae is over there ….!!

Hyunjae’s appearance arouses screams from the young female students ~~ Ah! Ah!!!

From this moment, I too …. lost my head ….

Oh, I worry Hyunjae’s car will be here any moment, what to do? …. So I rush non-stop to the parking lot ~~ at this moment a videocam starts filming a short interview of Hyunjae …. so thankful ….

Hyunjae seems to have said some words of congratulations to Eugene …. But how come I cannot hear his voice at all? ….

(I’m less than one metre from Hyunjae …. but I cannot hear his voice at all …. looks like I’ve really lost my head ….)

I’m so hoping that videocam’s lights will be on forever and the interview never stops ….

Oh God! I can only take a few photos of Hyunjae being interviewed, I feel like crying ~~!!!

After the interview, they continue walking to the parking lot …. the manager ahead with Hyunjae behind, and I, I try to follow Hyunjae as closely as possible ….

Walking, walking, feels like walking very far, very far …. maybe about 100m ~~

Thinking, haven’t even seen Hyunjae’s face properly ….

I summon up my courage and shout with trembling voice behind his back: “Hyunjae, I’ve come to see you!!”

Just as my voice fades, I see Hyunjae turning ….

That handsome face emitting brilliance is smiling, and he extends his hand ….

This is I suppose how it feels when the heart stops beating ….

In a daze I shake that hand

That hand ~~ so warm ~~ so soft ~~ so ~~

Then uncontrollably I start mumbling to myself ….

“I joined your fan club EVER not long ago …. I so much want to see you during this period ….”

“Hyunjae, you’re just too handsome ….” “So hoping to see you like this all the time ….”

When I’m muttering all these, Hyunjae is looking at me gently with his warm glowing eyes ….

That moment of contact — that feeling, unable to describe it even with all the languages of this world, just feel my heart is beating violently.

In that brief moment, my heart is full of gratitude and warmth ….

How I wish this moment will last forever ….

When they arrive at the banquet area parking lot …. Hyunjae immediately gets into the car ….

(Hyunjae walks too fast …. sigh ….)

While waiting for the car to start, separated by the window, can only nod to say goodbye ….

Just like this, the car disappears from my view …. This is incredible reality ….

I stand there like a fool, muttering repeatedly “What to do ~~ What to do~~”

It feels like an impossible dream ….

To tell the truth …. from my heart …. I feel of all the stars who come to the wedding, our Hyunjae’s brilliance is the most dazzling.

Everywhere Hyunjae appears, the surroundings are all covered in a brilliant aura.

After that it’s Ryu Jin …. even though looking from afar …. still so brilliant!

I thank Eugene most fervently for giving me this chance to see Hyunjae

And I wish her a blessed marriage and eternal happiness.

Oh! I finally fulfil my wish and see Hyunjae today, I’m just too, too, too blessed!!

All these photos are obviously taken by fans.  There are more of JHJ’s back or somebody’s head or arm or very blurred that we did not post.  JHJ as usual obviously did not stop 3 seconds for his fans to take his photo.  Now why are there no press photos of JHJ?  The answer lies in JHJ’s assistant’s message on Twitter around 10 p.m. last night:

There are two entrances to the church …. It is not my fault that there is no photo wall* …. This is a very strange church …. This is the fault of the wedding planners!!  Why no photo wall*??  I’ve asked them …. but it still came out like this …. Even then luckily there’s an interview.  He!He!He!He!

* Why no photo wall?  Because this is a private ceremony!  It was announced – even we know it!  [ED: Photo wall is a big board (with all the sponsors/advertisers names on it) against which each star stands as he/she arrives for the press to take photos.]  Most weddings of actors in Korea are conducted like a show.

CORRECTION 

There was a photo wall!  All the other stars entered the church by the front door where the photo wall was set up.  BUT our JHJ got in by the other entrance because of the inefficiency of his assistant!

JHJ’s co-star in “3 Dads/1 Mom” Eugene (Kim Yoo-Jin) tied the knot with actor Kim Tae-Young at Seoul Central Church in Anyang, Kyungki-do today.  JHJ made a rare public appearance at the wedding.
