MinAe920, thank you so much! JHJ needs fans like you. Come often to our blog. We're like a JHJ family here. We have fun chatting with one another here. We give thanks we can meet each other here because of JHJ (when under the normal course of things our paths would never have crossed.)

Many thanks, nia! We all have another life apart from JHJ. For some of us JHJ is a dream/fantasy, for others an outlet/escape .... for me he's a cause - someone for whom I hope to do something for because he's worth it, because he deserves better, because he should be much better known than he is now. Nia, good luck to you in your studies/work, but take it easy - work is never done and life is very long. And I need you to tell us where you are from. (I'll tell you in a few days' time why I ask.)

Ooopsie! I stand corrected. I misunderstood, I'm sorry. I was roused to anger after I read this: The most exasperating thing is: these people then turn around and accuse our “blog” of letting in all the riffraff (because no LOG IN required.). Blame it on my adrenaline rush.

Actually, I don't care if they feel they are superior than us since we know better. If it will make them feel better thinking that way, so be it.

Thanks for the clarification wuliJHJ. Prissymom....you rock! 555

Wulijhj,

I agree with you that we have to buy his souvenirs, his DVDs and his OST if we want JHJ to stay active in the entertainment world.
Some people claim that they are fans but they never buy his souvenirs, never buy his DVDs, never watch his dramma on TV. In a nutshell, some people speak a lot as JHJ fans, but JHJ cannot gain any money return from their support as fans.
I know JHJ just wants more people appreciate his performance and does not care much about money retrurn. However, business is business. As the case in Japan, JHJ ranks high because his DVDs, his fans meeting, his souvenirs and his dramma on TV channels earn money.
Production companies cast JHJ because of his market value.

wuliJHJ, you know my views about the LOG IN option - it creates a wall between bloggers and users; the absence of the LOG IN option makes this blog (or website... or whatever people want to call this site) user-friendly and welcoming. If the absence of the LOG IN option makes this site a place for riffraffs, all I can say is .....

I LOVE BEING WITH ALL THE RIFFRAFFS IN THIS SITE.... HELLO AND A GREAT BIG HUG TO ALL THE RIFFRAFFS, THE DRIFTERS, THE GOOD-FOR-NOTHING, AND THE FLOTSAM AND JETSAM WHO PASS BY THIS SITE EVERYDAY (MANY TIMES DURING THE DAY) 5555!!!

LET'S JUST LOVE AND SUPPORT JHJ WITH ALL OUR HEART AND IN THE MOST DIRECT WAY POSSIBLE!

Ka Ja, calm down! They never said JHJ's international fans are nobody and they didn't judge you as riffraff (they wouldn't know this English word.) They DO feel superior, well, let them. Real superiority lies within, not on the surface. We just do our own thing and support JHJ in our own way.

WuliJHJ, the arrogance of those types of people who think they are more superior than others really irritate me. For them to judge us as riffraff just because your blog does not require us to log in doesn't mean we are just scums, ergo are not equal to them. We support JHJ the same way they do. Just because they lavish JHJ with expensive gifts and food does not make them more superior than the rest of JHJ's fans. They have the audacity to say that JHJ's international fans are nobody because we are not part of their "in" crowd. Who are they to say such things? They don't even know us! I'm sure most of our JHJ family in this blog have achieved more than they have. Just stating facts! Just because they have easy access to JHJ doesn't give them the right to judge other JHJ fans.

jhcwhite, I myself just started purchasing JHJ DVDs to show my love and support for him. I'm just a starter though. I have a long way to go.

jhcwhite, like you I buy the DVDs of all JHJ dramas (which I watch over and over), sometimes multiple versions (Korean, Japanese, etc.), e.g. SDY. But I'm sorry to disillusion you - not many people support JHJ this way - the most direct and practical way. Most people just watch his dramas online (which is fine); not only that, they download them and make copies and brag about it on their "website". And of course they don't buy his OST either but just download it from the web. The most exasperating thing is: these people then turn around and accuse our "blog" of letting in all the riffraff (because no LOG IN required.) Of all the hypocritical, distasteful, mean things .....words fail me.

wuliJHJ, some of your "passers-by" have become fixtures and I feel I know them already, just as I feel I know you (from reading what you've written.) I may not leave a lot of comments but I come here everyday to browse around and hang out with my "friends". I feel we are simple people, like JHJ. We get together here because we like him and we like it here. No politics, please, just people, NICE people!

I agree with jhcwhite. I like it here because it's simple and user-friendly (and the fans here are friendly too!) Some sites require you to pay to be a member because certain posts are reserved FOR MEMBERS ONLY. Sometimes you have to leave a message or answer some questions before you are allowed to view certain posts. And I know of at least one where the Master can promote or demote you (in which case you'll be shut out of some posts.) All nonsense, if you ask me. They're not helping JHJ - they're driving fans away, except their own group or clique, as wuli says. LOG IN doesn't mean anything, just more hassles, and it doesn't guarantee quality of site. I have everything I need here, and I like the fans who come here. We may not know each other but it feels like family - the wuliJHJ family.

Some sites require you to pay to be a member because certain posts are reserved FOR MEMBERS ONLY. Sometimes you have to leave a message or answer some questions before you are allowed to view certain posts. And I know of at least one where the Master can promote or demote you (in which case you’ll be shut out of some posts.) All nonsense, if you ask me. They’re not helping JHJ – they’re driving fans away, except their own group or clique, as wuli says. LOG IN doesn’t mean anything, just more hassles, and it doesn’t guarantee quality of site. I have everything I need here, and I like the fans who come here. We may not know each other but it feels like family – the wuliJHJ family.

I want to make it clear. KOW does not has a fan club. It is the only official website of JHJ in Korea now. The MC of JHJ announces the schedule and new project of JHJ here.
Cafe and Ever have their websites, but they are not the official websites now. They are the two major fan clubs of JHJ. Cafe established in 2000/2001. Ever established in 2005.

After reading, I'm still unclear about why are they so unhappy about wulijhj's blog, but what I can say is, I really doubt the need for having "official" fan clubs. There is no such thing as official/formal fans vs unofficial/informal fans in reality, fans by all means are a form of expression, something we do as our hobby and interest move us... though it would help to reduce alot of confusing communication and administrative efforts between JHJ/his MC and the fans, it's something to improve the communication, not to hamper one's devotion or expression of devotion.

One of the things that frustrated me most when I tried searching for JHJ's news, were the multiple requests on mutiple sites to Log in, or are "strictly for members only sites". And there are a number of sites that after spending long minutes to fill-in the lengthy member form, only disappointed to find out there was so little news about JHJ, or the site was not well maintained, or the members mostly indulged in scolding all other actors except JHJ etc.... You won't know what you'll be getting until it's too late...

So I was actually very happy to find this blog, providing simple access to latest JHJ's news and activites. To me, this then is real fan site, fans would be too happy to share with others about their favorite star, isn't it? When you like someone, you just have this passion to share with others, you want to let more people know him. All the high walls set in various site are actually strange fanship behaviors but are so frequently done today that it becomes a "norm", which is quite sad. And I was a "submarine reader" of this blog (chinese means accessing frequently but never show up like post comment/join as member etc) for quite a long while. I fell in love with the wonderfully and rigourlously maintained blog and decided to log in and share my feelings about jhj with the kind people here. I think one precious thing of this site is what some of you have already mentioned, the fans who come here are warm and nice, and respect each other's opinions, even when we have different opinions eg. about 49 day's ending.

Definitely it's touching to see those big fan clubs sending extravagant gifts and food, I'm sure jhj appreciated them, and felt very supported and motivated. But that is really no ground to demean other fans. Seriously I do not think that that would make them anyhow anywhere a level different from all other fans who love jhj truthfully, and supporting jhj in each of their own ways. Actually the most important support that a star can have from fans, are fans support for his product, be it movie, drama screening, dvds, books etc, that is what they earn for a living. Ideally, there should be no demarcation between (or at least no so-called "level" differences) official or non-official fans as long as they're true fans that truely supported JHY's work in real action. I'm sure alot of fans are like me, who do not belong to any big official club but watched all jhj's work, bought all his dvds (even after watching online). I think it's all about respect. Respect all the hearts that truely love JHJ.

Anyway, this is the only star that I'm crazy about to this extent, so it's the first time for me to know about all these fan club politics and they really seem scary to me... Frankly speaking I don't think it looks good on JHJ himself when each yr he is probably the only star who would need to celebrate his birthday twice separatly with the two big fan club becos of fanclub politics, isn't it?

Thanks so much wulijhj for the wonderful site, yes to me it's a site, i dunno how to view it as a blog, it's so so informative and everything is so up-to-date, the passion for jhj is so contagious here :)
And also thanks for the info on MC, this is the first time I read about jhj's mc, I can't find any news on other places, so it's precious info to me, thanks.... And sad to know that jhj actually been thru' this much, hope he is happier now... yes, definitely with a price, in this world, everything is about power, smaller MC definitely have less negotiating power, but more importantly is whether the MC respect the star, and has integrity...looks at what happen to JYJ (ex-DBSK), what's the point to stay with big MC if this is the kind of treatment you received, you're just a working robot to them. Since that's his choice, he has all my support...

michelle, you've missed entirely the crux of the matter. First of all, I never mentioned the 2 Korean fan clubs. Nobody disputes what they have done for JHJ, but they should live and let live. Everything you write is true and everybody knows it, but spending money on JHJ is not the ONLY way to support him. Maybe it's the Korean way, but all I'm saying is JHJ is now more than just a Korean actor, so his international fans should be taken into account.

Many thanks, everybody else, for your support! I was just letting off steam, but sometimes it's so frustrating that I felt like giving up. Why should simply liking JHJ (a simple guy, by his own admission) be so complicated? Why do some people have to make things so complicated? It should be just between JHJ and us, with nobody in between.

I don't like the existing "fan club" culture which is complicated and not reasonable.

I like this blog. I am not a "passers-by". I will always be here with everyone who love JHJ with true heart.
