Jo Hyun Jae

This very brief video manages to capture the moment Jo Hyun-Jae was leaving the Tokyo fan meeting site in a black car.  Don’t blink or you’ll miss seeing JHJ rolling down the car window to wave goodbye to his fans.  They probably didn’t see his face, just his hand! 

 Well, in case you did blink, here’s JHJ’s hand.  Happy?

And here is the lucky fan who got to pose with JHJ at the Osaka fan meeting.  That’s what JHJ was wearing in the second half of the show.

You can’t keep JHJ fans away from him.  Even though his departure from Tokyo to Gimpo (Seoul) on August 25 evening was not announced, fans managed to catch him and film this precious short video.

This brings to mind something that has been irking me for some time.  We took the same flight from Kansai (Osaka) to Haneda (Tokyo) with JHJ on August 21, remember?  (Please see our August 21 post ”I spread my dream in the sky” under Category: JHJ fan meetings.)  We asked the fans waiting at Haneda (for more than an hour) how they knew JHJ was taking this flight, and they said they didn’t know.  They just had people spread out over all the airports the whole night in the hope of catching a glimpse of him.  And to be told: “No photos! No photos!” by his handlers strikes us as utterly inconsiderate and disrespectful of fans.  These are all respectable ajumas who under normal circumstances would probably have been in bed already, and here they are in an airport in a foreign city so late at night just hoping to catch a glimpse or snap a photo.  Could JHJ not have stopped for ONE MINUTE to gratify their wishes?  Could his management company not allow him to give his fans one minute?

We stayed at the same hotel as Jo Hyun-Jae in Osaka – the New Otani – but we missed him by just 5 minutes on the night of August 20 when he checked in a little before 10 p.m. because we missed our stop after we met him on his arrival at Kansai International Airport earlier in the evening.  It was already the third time we took that train route within a space of two days, and yet we were talking so animatedly that we forgot to get off.

After chatting to our Japanese friends for a while in the hotel lobby, we went up to our room.   I started to write my posts and B went down to the lobby again to socialize.  She came up again a few minutes later to fetch her name cards.  Next time she came back, she looked like she was going to murder someone!  JHJ went out of the hotel in the minute or so B came up to get her name cards.  So she missed him again!

Still, as they say: You win some, you lose some.  The next night (August 21) we were on the same flight as JHJ from Osaka to Tokyo — entirely by coincidence.  Perhaps it’s a good thing we didn’t bump into him too many times, or he might think we’re stalkers!

Jo Hyun-Jae’s Japan fan meetings are already history now, but they are still so vivid in our minds.  We would like to share these pictures with you again.
