WuliJHJ, i do agree, it's not JHJ's job to think of these little details concerning the KOW. That's the job of his manager/management team and the site's admin.

I just had a sudden thought - what if there really was a welcome message but it was not posted in light of the cheonan incident? actors could have been prohibited from doing publicity stuff (even innocent ones like posting messages on an actor's web site) for security reasons. If this is the case, then I can live with the neglect.

re: suggestion on posting messages on KOW - very simple, but a great idea! I will do as you suggested the next time I post a message.

re: JHJ may be sent to the frontlines to defend his country. I have been praying really hard that this may not come to pass. Sending JHJ off on his 2-year mandatory MS was heartbreaking enough, sending him off to fight in a real war will be a painful and nerve-wracking/wrecking experience. So I do hope that you are right - just posturings on the part of politicians and sensationalizing on the part of the media.

prissymom, JHJ is busy studying scripts. And he can only do one thing at one time, remember? These things are not part of an artist's job but that of his manager.

i do agree about your sentiments about the lack of message from JHJ. actually i noticed that lack but didn't comment on it because i don't want to draw attention to this neglect. The KOW is JHJ's home in cyberspace, and it is only fitting for the owner of the home to welcome visitors to his home. but I am pretty sure that something really important kept JHJ from doing this very basic activity so i don't blame him. BUT i do blame the people behind the KOW for not planning for the welcome message. it should have been part of their opening day activity. it is a very small detail, but a very important one. they should have advised JHJ to prepare a welcome message as soon as plans for the KOW started. yes, he could have prepared one without being told, but our man must really be very busy with his MS to think of all these details.

I’m do believe JHJ’s discharge will not be affected.

Michelle, please see "I am not blaming JHJ at all." But leaving a message does not require taking leave.

The Japan official website was opened in June 2008. JHJ was free at that time, so he was able to leave a message.

However, the Korean official website was opened in May 2010. JHJ was still in the army, so he was not able to leave a message. JHJ might have planned to take a leave before May 24 and leave a message. Because of the crisis, as we know, JHJ cannot take a leave. Finally, he did not leave any message.
