Japanese magazine on JHJ
wulijohyunjae | March 23, 2010 | 7:01 amThe Japanese magazine “Korean TV” in its March 2010 issue has an item on Jo Hyun-Jae’s military life. It is about JHJ as a dog soldier — where he is serving in the Korean Army’s 2nd Battalion Military Supplies Support Command, how he trains with his dog, how he patrols the ammunition depot with it every night at 4 a.m. for 5 km. (even in winter), how he underwent Severe Winter Training in January (when this photo was taken), and how he completed his mission satisfactorily.
(Have we mastered Japanese overnight? Nah! But we can read the Chinese characters in the Japanese language, plus a little imagination and our knowledge of all things JHJ, so we guess our translation is not far off.)

The magazine cover features Lee Byung-Hyun and the focus is on “Iris”. But to be mentioned in the same breath as Lee Byung-Hyun is not bad at all, considering JHJ admires LBH as an actor.

And here are the latest countdown creations from JHJ fans in Japan:

According to this magazine, JHJ will be discharged in August. If they have gone to any websites of Mr. Jo, they would definitely see the countdown. I don’t expect a Japanese magazine to make a mistake like this!
Stephanie, we saw that mistake too (under the photo) – that’s why we didn’t translate that. But a sharp-eyed fan like you caught it anyway. Problem is – so far there has not been any OFFICIAL announcement, even though everybody knows the discharge date is June 19, 2010.
Even Korean news agencies get JHJ’s discharge date wrong! Somebody at soompi posted an article from allkpop saying that JHJ’s release will be before June this year. Not that allkpop is the most reliable source of news about Korean celebs, but all these different dates about JHJ’s discharge can really be very confusing. I don’t know if the mistakes are being done deliberately to confuse fans or to heighten our anticipation. Anyway, so glad to note that even Japanese media is anticipating JHJ’s release from his MS.
