HYM – i was wondering myself about the critic’s description of JHJ’s role and performance but since i haven’t seen untold scandal yet, i couldn’t comment on it. but from the bits and pieces i’ve seen of his performance on youtube i would say that your description of JHJ’s role is more on target than that of the critic’s. i have seen a few samurai movies in the past, Kwon In Ho doesn’t seem to fit the samurai mold.

Did we watch the same film? “youthful”, yes. “swagger” and “recklessness”, no! The JHJ character is innocent, even naive, impressionable, bashful, repressed, a scholar, NOT a trace of a samurai! His comparison is totally misleading!

thank you for posting this article, makes me more excited to see JHJ in Untold Scandal. I’ve always known that HJ’s acting can be compared to actors from other countries and his talent will never be found wanting!

The reviewer must be a fan of Bae Yong Jun to put him #1. I was not terribly impressed by his performance in “Untold Scandal”, but Jo Hyun Jae deserves his #2 spot (I haven’t seen the #1.)
