Maybe he committed to this project before he made it big in “Love Letter”. In any case, whoever has the misfortune to play lead male to JHJ is asking for trouble. Just consider the case of Rye Seung Bum who is totally eclipsed in “Sunshine”.

Strongly agree. Similar case is Dae Mang. (Great Ambitions). JHJ has a natural charisma. which can overshadow another male role in his drama no matter how much part this male role took. The only special case in JHJ drama is Jon Wu-Jin in “Love Letter”, the actor for this role has a different charm which somehow complements to JHJ’s.

The appearance and performance of JHJ in `First Love’ is very good. He has won an acting prize by it. I also agree that `That is good’ is not JHJ’s choice.

prissymom, I don’t think JHJ was referring to “First Love”, most probably “That’s Good” (watch out for our post later this month.) He couldn’t have given such a fine performance in FL if his heart was not in it.

I didn’t have the heart to watch the whole drama, either. But even though I watched it with so many fast forwards, I think HJ gave a very convincing performance in it. And he looked very young and energetic in this drama, quite different from the quiet, reserved Andrea in Love Letter.

In one of his interviews JHJ said that in his rookie years he had to appear in dramas he didn’t like because he was a rookie and had no choice. Of course, being the polite gentleman that he is he didn’t mention which dramas he was referring to. Maybe (I am just speculating here) “First Love” is one of those dramas he didn’t like doing but had no choice but to do it.

I like what you wrote. Though I haven’t seen this drama (I’m sure if my mom hears it she will beg me to get it for her). But, after I read your post I have an idea what this is about.I don’t think I will like this drama if this will go against my beliefs.I also have old values as well (thanks to my mom). I’m even considered old fashioned or prude by my friends. Scriptwriters should be more creative when it comes to their storyline so viewers will not only appreciate the drama but the actors who’s playing the part too.
